Media Advisory: MCCONNELL OFFICIALS EVACUATE AIRCRAFT

McConnell Air Force Base officials have ordered the evacuation of aircraft as a precaution due to the possibility of severe weather today. The aircraft are being dispersed to Fairchild and Grand Forks AFB. "Safe Haven" bases are chosen on the basis of their locations, out of danger of the storm, and their ability to house McConnell support personnel and provide maintenance to McConnell's aircraft.
      This does not mean the base is being evacuated.  Base personnel should check with their work centers for additional information.
